One Gray Day – AVAILABLE NOW!

There's a quote by Ernest Hemingway that influenced this entire novel: “When you begin to live outside yourself, it's all dangerous.” And I believe that's true. Ten years ago, I could only dream of writing because in the dreaming I was still living inside myself. I was still safe. I could do or not do, change or not change, risk everything or risk nothing. But once I stepped outside of myself, away from my day job, and went after that dream? It was all danger. And can I tell you a secret? It was exhilarating.

This particular book means SO much to me because each of the characters in it are mirrors of that same effort. A detective struggling for mental health, a gangster trying to find purpose after all his mistakes, a priest trying to find human love without breaking his vows, and a woman trying to protect someone she barely knows. Heroes, all, in my humble opinion. Because they're not just in the danger, they've chosen the danger.
